You're sharp in person. Your website should be too.

You've built the business on good work and word of mouth. We build the website that shows it, so the next customer, the next generation or the next owner can see what you're worth before they've met you.

Does your website measure up?

Put in the year you opened the doors and the year your website went up. The tape will do the rest.

38years of good work

17years since the website went up

Your website went up before Google started favouring phone-friendly websites, in 2015.

Word of mouth built the business. It won't sell it.

Word of mouth still works. But the people it sends you are younger, and they look you up before they ring. So does anyone who might buy the business, or take it over.

What if you want to sell?

A buyer looks the business up before they look at the books. Richard has spent 15 years as a commercial business broker; he's seen what a tired website says about a business that's anything but.

What if the next generation takes over?

They'll inherit the tools, the customers and the website. Give them one built for the next twenty years, not left over from the last twenty.

What if word of mouth slows down?

Your longest customers are retiring too. The next lot search on their phones, and they ring the business that looks the part.

What if it gave you time back?

Without a website, you explain what you do all day, one phone call at a time. A good website answers those questions before they ring, so you get your time back for the work you'd rather be doing.

We know you're proud of the business you've built. Now show it off.

Mopar Motors, Thomastown

A family-owned workshop doing servicing, accident repairs, PT Cruiser parts and custom builds since 1989. Its website dates from about 2006, and the banner across the top no longer loads. Here's the redesign we've mocked up for them.

Before
The old Mopar Motors home page: a grey layout with a blank box saying 'Adobe Flash Player is no longer supported', a long list of PT Cruiser accessories, and a fax number.
The old home page.
After · concept
The whole redesigned Mopar Motors home page: the headline 'Fixed right. Built proper.' over an orange Valiant Charger, then servicing, accident repairs, PT Cruiser parts, custom builds, the workshop's story, questions and answers, and a contact form.

15 years as a business broker

Richard

Richard has spent 15 years as a commercial business broker. He's worked with hundreds of businesses doing brilliant work, with nothing online to show for it. He knows how a business looks from the buyer's side of the table, and he'll talk to you owner to owner.

Business consultant and marketer

Susan

Susan is a business consultant and digital marketer who has spent more than 10 years helping service businesses grow. She knows what today's customers want to see and hear before they pick up the phone, and what a business needs in place to scale. She turns that into words that sound like you.

Fair questions

Do I have to write anything?

No. We just need to understand what your business does, who your customers are and the services you provide. We research and write the rest, and the words are included in the price.

Can I update it myself?

You don't need to. We recommend the website management plan ($99 a month): we host it, keep it secure and make three updates a year for you. If you have your own server, we can hand over the website files instead, though you'll need someone comfortable editing them.

Am I locked in?

No. The website management plan has no minimum term. Whenever you want to leave, we hand over your website files and you take them with you.

What's a static website?

A website made of plain, ready-built pages, with no database or plugins running behind it. That means it loads fast, there's less to go wrong and less to hack. If you want an enquiry form that saves enquiries to a database, that's an extra $1,000.

Do you build online shops?

No. If you sell a range of products, we'll make you a product guide your customers can download instead. It's simpler to keep up to date and suits the way most trade customers order: they ring you.

We're not in Melbourne. Can you still help?

Yes. We're based in Melbourne and work with businesses all over Australia.

Word of mouth works fine for us. Why bother?

Keep it. A good website doesn't replace word of mouth; it backs it up. When someone's told "give them a ring", the first thing they do is look you up.

Let's have a chat.

Tell us a little about the business and how to reach you. Richard will be in touch to find a time that suits.
